For individuals seeking guidance
-
Our services are free and available to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. We focus on supporting financially vulnerable, low- and moderate-income adults (18+) who face barriers to accessing professional financial planning.
-
CFFP serves adults (18+) across Canada, offering support virtually or in person.
-
CFFP's resources are free and publicly available on our website for community use. Working with one of our volunteers in one-to-one sessions is also free. Volunteers are prohibited from promoting or selling products or services and may provide only general financial planning guidance and information.
-
We provide bilingual services in English and French, with the possibility of support in other languages subject to volunteers' availability.
-
Our volunteers do not provide financial advice; instead, they offer personalized financial planning guidance. They help individuals explore their options with a focus on education, confidence-building, and financial empowerment.
-
Our volunteers provide up to three free personalized financial planning guidance sessions for community members. Community organizations may request one-time or recurring group workshops.
-
To request individual support, visit our 1-to-1 sessions page. To request a group workshop for your organization, visit our Community Partners page.
-
CFFP's Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected through its website or services. Information is stored on Canadian servers in accordance with Canadian privacy laws and protected through physical, technological, and administrative safeguards. By signing a Volunteer Agreement when they join the Foundation, all volunteers agree to a duty of confidentiality and may use personal information only to perform their work for the Foundation.
For volunteers
-
CFFP requires all volunteer financial planners to hold the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP®), or Planificateur Financier (Pl. Fin.) designation. While we truly appreciate your interest in giving back, we can only accept volunteers with these certifications.
-
CFFP provides comprehensive training and support to all volunteer financial planners. Before leading any session, volunteers are required to review and agree to CFFP's expectations regarding professional conduct and confidentiality.
-
To volunteer with CFFP, visit our Become a Volunteer page to submit your application.
